JOIN THE FOLLOWERS....

Hi Everyone,

I've been getting lots of messages in my email, but if you join the blog as a follower, we can all chat together. Remember, it's only open to the invitees so feel free to post your comment. On the bottom right, click on the title "Getting Ready for the Trip" and it will bring up a spot for you to post a comment.

My grammar school friend Jean just asked me what a blog is. Here's my explanation; Think of it as a meeting room, or your living room, if you prefer. We all get together and chat, share ideas and suggestions. Someone will be the co-ordinator, in this case the posted news of our trip. The difference between a blog and email is everyone in the room can hear (in this case, see) your comment. This prompts comments and responses from other people and makes it fun for everyone.

If you make a comment, don't forget to hit the "post comment" button at the bottom so it will appear online. You can comment under each posting so be sure to remember, if you don't see your comment, you may be looking under the wrong posting.

Only about 30 to 40 people have been invited. We wanted to limit it to only those friends and family with whom we would like to share. You are one of our preferred guests! Join in and get to know the others.

Getting Ready for the Trip

Well Jack has been fighting with the Goldwing trailer hitch for two days. He has already had to bring a support brace to his friend Wally to drill a broken bolt out of the connection and re-thread the opening where the bolt cross threaded. At this point I think he should just take it down to the dealership and let them install it! At least if anything breaks, it's their responsibility to fix it.

I've been packing items for the trailer like healthy snacks, foods, necessities and comfort items in case we are in an area where there aren't any decent hotels and we may have to camp. It's not my forte' but I may not have a choice, so I want to be prepared and as comfortable as possible.

We have our National Parks Passports with us which means we will be stopping at as many National Parks as is feasibly possible. We have been known to travel as far as 100 miles out of our way, just to get a passport stamp in our books. At this age, however, we may not be quite as adventurous!

I will be posting on the blog as often as we're in a location with good cell service since I use my phone as a router. Naturally, most hotels now have free WiFi, so if we are at a hotel with this service, unless I'm just plain exhausted, I will make it a point to make a brief posting and perhaps some pics from the day.

Wish us luck and say your prayers for our safety! They will be greatly appreciated!
